About Health Futures Collective

Health Futures Collective is built by public health professionals, for health professionals.

Our motivation is simple: through years of experience in the public health sector, we have seen that health challenges—and their solutions—are inherently local.

Yet, in many resource-constrained settings, the very professionals who best understand their communities, contexts, and health systems often lack access to the tools, opportunities, and networks needed to fully realise their impact.

​

Capacity-building efforts are frequently fragmented—one-off, reactive, and disconnected from long-term strategies for professional development and system strengthening. This limits the ability of local experts to drive sustained, meaningful change.

​

At the same time, governments and international partners often face challenges in identifying and engaging expertise that is both technically strong and deeply rooted in local realities. Meanwhile, declining external health financing is placing increasing pressure on countries to take greater ownership of investment and leadership in their health systems.

Health Futures Collective was established in response to these challenges—with a commitment to do things differently.

We believe that strong, sustainable health systems are built from within. They are led by local professionals who understand the complexities of their communities and are best positioned to design and implement effective solutions.

Our role is to equip, connect, and amplify this local expertise—providing the tools needed for public health professionals to lead transformative change in their own systems.
